Job Description Job Description A Universal Thin Film Lab Coating Technician provides technical and hands-on development to production and advance programs to ensure project completion is on schedule and within budget. The Coating Technician also recommends and implements improvements to processes, methods, and controls. · Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Operates coating equipment for the production and development of Thin Film coatings * Performs chamber and materials preparation, substrate cleaning and loading, and coating startup and finish * Reviews schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods and activities * Supports the responsibilities of accurate recording of coating data and material logs * Monitors coating and chamber parameters to ensure the process is under control * Remains alert to tool and chamber behavior and notifies maintenance of any equipment issues * Interfaces with engineering for development processes * Operates spectrophotometer, microscope, other general lab instruments Qualifications and Education Requirements To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following qualifications and competencies: * Hands on experience in manufacturing operations and an understanding of manufacturing documentation and quality practices * Working knowledge of cleanroom protocol(s). * Ability and discipline to follow established procedures * Attentive to detail and ability to learn quickly * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Basic computer proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel * Open availability; must be able to work second shift * Displays exemplary ethics and business conduct and performs work cognizant of safe work practices Company Description Universal Thin Film Lab Corp (UTFL) is a leading provider of high-quality thin film coatings across diverse industries including Aerospace, Electronic, and Defense.
